26. "Manisha Patil Ma'am"

 

I dedicate this poem to my school teacher Manisha Patil Ma’am who is now a Vice Principal of Shantiniketan School, Kolhapur. I feel blessed to work with her as an educator in the same school. It’s been my sixth year that I am working under her guidance as an educator. And as it’s her birthday today, I felt like penning down a few lines for her. Happy Birthday Manisha Ma’am. Wishing you a long and healthy life on this special day. You have made our school an abode of wisdom. Thank you for inspiring us every single day. May your day be brightened with love and fun. This poem is to thank Makarand Soundalgekar Sir who is a Consultant & Trainer (Business Excellence, Project Management & Experiential Education). Sir took me through the journey of Experiential Education Course. The seven months of journey with fourteen sessions really added more meaning to my life. My cousin Yogesh Yadav’s best friend – Vinay Patil.. a person who is very helpful in nature.. a person who worked hard and cracked the revenue department’s exam.. he has bagged many medals in rifle shooting.. he still strives his best to help the rest with shooting range.. his students achieving gold at nationals, hope someday they crack the internationals.. all the best Vinay dada.. Though schoolmates, I wasn’t aware about him during my childhood days.. We got connected through Facebook & I was astonished to see his achievements, not monetary but satisfactory ones.. He being courageous, adventurous, and ready for all expeditions.. Best of all, he every time exploring new places though with many challenges.. 21."Philanthropist - Nikhil Koli"


A young lad from Kolhapur.. founder member of Savali Foundation, member of Rotaract club of Kolhapur Midtown Phoenixmember of several other NGO’s.. Presently works at Kolhapur Municipal Corporation.. Any post of his on facebook or whatsapp is not just worth reading but inspiring as well.. his contribution towards the upliftment of society is remarkable.. the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I come across this person is  - माणूस पैशाने नाही तर मनाने श्रीमंत असला पाहिजे & he is a living example of this saying. 20."DYSP of CISF - Rohan Powar"


We represented our school football team for three consecutive years. He stood as a goalkeeper and me as a left defender. Not just the football ground, but the classroom was also fun because of him. He along with other teammates used to always encourage me. He failed a number of times, to specify, we both had a tight slap from our teachers but then, today he has proved his will.. I feel proud to have a friend like him.. Though not together today, hope this small gesture of poem helps him recall our school days.. dedicated to Rohan Powar

19."Sergeant - Shailesh Gawas"


We pursued our education together at Chhatrapati Shahu Vidyalaya, Kolhapur. I remember him as a decent, honest and noble friend, who in-spite was with a skinny frame, made his way to Delhi Parade. Though was shy in nature, today he stands as a brave soldier. Not only me, but the entire country is proud of you, and why not, it takes a lot of courage to be a part of Indian Air Force. 18."Choreographer - Sangram Bhalkar"


Since childhood, we have been together, and why shouldn’t we, not because we are neighbours, but friends forever. Enjoying all the festivals, playing cricket during the weekends, street cricket, the best of all, a note with a whistle to call each other :D Now he is no less than a star, he has nailed his name in the film industry.. Though a hero behind the curtains, is now an inspiration for his assistants.. let this heroic friend of mine, shine all the time.. Happy Birthday Sangram.. hope you like this little gesture of mine.. 17. "Prasanna Karmarkar Sir"

I got to know about him from one of student cum friend – Vinit Katkar in 2013. He told me about Sir’s contribution towards the society and how he has inspired lives of many. We became friends on facebook. Few years ago, I met him first at Jotiba Road near Mahalaxmi Temple, and as described by Vinit, he was a pillar of positive vibes. Even today, he has left no stone unturned and is keeping up with his passion. All thanks to Prasanna Karmarkar Sir J

16. "Champion of British Formula 3 - Krishnaraaj Mahadik"

It was 2012, Shantiniketan school assembly time, I was waiting for my turn to go on stage and announce about this young boy who achieved remarkable feats in motor racing. I had a small talk with him that day, and was damn surprised to know about all his achievements. Above all, though he being a Hero, a Champion of motor racing and a son of a politician, he was still down to earth, what impressed me most was his humbleness.  August 2017, he not only made Kolhapur but the whole of nation proud by his remarkable achievement to be the 2nd Indian to win BRDC British Formula 3. 15. "Youngest Author - Praneel Bhosale"


I met him first at Sanjeevan Knowledge City, Panhala in 2014-15. He was a 10th std student. I was very surprised that at such a tender age he wanted to publish a book. I tried my best to guide him and even I was motivated as this was the very first time I came across the youngest author. Praneel, I know, its too late to appreciate you for this, but then, better late than never.. So this is for you.. I’m sure you will go a long way and achieve all your desired goals.. J

13. "Richi Fernandis Sir"


I entered the world of football because of him. He helped me walk in to the real world and face the challenges. He made me persistent. It’s because of him that I shined during my school days. He is known by all in Kolhapur for his outstanding skills. He has maintained the highest standards possible in his teaching, coaching and training. He has inspired thousands of people to embrace football game & ethics as a way to live life filled with joy, integrity and balance. He is my schoolmate and since childhood is very mischievous, but then has come up with extra-ordinary by planting more than 300 saplings in just a period of one year and is making India a better place to live in.. My childhood friend Sudhir has played an important role in my life.. Whenever I asked him for help, he was always there for me.. He has captured almost all workshops of the project “Inspiring Young India” and has added so many mesmerizing moments to my life to cherish with.. 9. "Dentist - Deepak Satpute"


Dentist Deepak Satpute – has named his clinic as “आई क्लिनिक” (Aai Clinic) which is situated in nangiwali chowk, Kolhapur. I suffered from severe toothache and so I consulted Dr. Satpute and he suggested doing root canal. Initially, I was damn scared as injections were to be given in gums but he did the treatment with great care and concern and I was again in action eating my favourite food. Thanks to his vast experience and worldly knowledge that I could now eat smoothly. Thought of thanking him in a different way, so a poem for him. Spreading happiness.. J

8. "Yogesh Yadav"


Mr. Yogesh Yadav – born & brought up in Kolhapur.. Owner of Mahalaxmi Jewelers.. He is a cousin of mine.. loves to play football & is very fond of travelling.. has always helped me in all possible ways.. rest, the poem says it all.. gifted a copy to him.. J

7. "Ice-Magic"

 There are many ice cream parlors in Kolhapur but ‘ICE MAGIC’ is one of my favourite. It is situated in Tarabai Park, Kolhapur. I have been there many a times. Even the journey with my better half started with the sweetness of this place and thereafter it has kept on adding many memories to my life. So wrote a poem based on one of my memories I had here. Mr. Shameem A.P. is the owner of ‘Ice Magic’ but as he was not available, on his behalf, his cousin Mr. Mubashir M. accepted the gift and was very delighted. Happiness at its best.

6. "Rishiraj Jadhav Sir"


Rishiraj Jadhav Sir – Founder & Chairman of Swami Vivekananda Educational Academy, Kolhapur.. Master of Accounts.. he is the one who led me into teaching industry.. an inspiration for many.. wrote a short poem based on his life & gifted a copy to him.. & then we had a dinner party as well J

5. "Walavalkar Cloth Shop"


Well, there are many shops in Kolhapur but Walavalkar Cloth Shop is one of the oldest & renowned shop preferred by many, especially during marriage ceremonies. I was no exception, I purchased the very first saree for my beloved from this shop & then but obvious, it had to be a special one. Rest, the poem says it all so gifted a copy of the poem to one of the partners Mr. Gurudatta Desai of Walavalkar Cloth Shop which is in Kolhapur. He was very happy to receive the gift. To add on, he is a social activist, involved in the upliftment of orphans, kids suffering from AIDS, physically challenged kids & so on. He appreciated me for my writing, for my social service & offered me to be a part of his social cause. Later, the next day, received a phone call from Mr. Deepak Walavalkar, the owner of the shop thanking me for the gift.

4. "Sanjeevan"


P.R.Bhosale Sir – Founder & Chairman of Sanjeevan Knowledge City.. I won’t say much about him as his biography is going to be published soon.. I work with one of his school, Sanjeevan Public School, Panhala as an English Teacher.. every day at Sanjeevan is different, and no doubt, I am in love with this place.. have tried to express my feelings with this short poem.. gifted a copy of it to Sir.. feeling blessed..

3. "Velvet Boutique"


Mr. Sanjay Karajgar..founder of Peoples Good India Social Foundation.. a social activist.. has come up with his new Velvet Boutique.. So wrote a poem on the memory I had at Mahadwar Road & then the connection with his Velvet Boutique.. gifted a copy to him.. surprised and impressed..

2. "Way-Inn"


There is a small restaurant called “Way-Inn” situated in Rajarampuri 8th lane, Kolhapur which is famous for Paav-Bhaaji.. I have been there for years and yes, it has given me mesmerizing moments which I can never forget.. So wrote a poem on the memories spent there and gifted a copy of it to the owner of the restaurant Mr. Rajendra Kapale and to my surprise, he had already received a copy of it through one of our mutual friends as I had already published it on fb & my blog as well.. good to know that people read & share my posts.. Nevertheless, Mr. Kapale was happy and appreciated my writing..

1. "The Castle"


There is a restaurant called “THE Castle” in Rajarampuri 2nd lane, Kolhapur. I have been there many a times & yes, this place has always given me some memories to cherish with. So I have written a poem based on the memories I had at “THE Castle” and have gifted a copy of it to the owner of this restaurant Mr. Nageshkar. He is very impressed by the poem.
